Darts manufacturer Target represents many big names in the sport. And soon there will be one more. Garry Plummer, Target's MD, was involved in their sponsored Sports Stars Fishing Championship this past week in a team featuring some of the best of the stable.
He teamed up with Adrian Lewis, Lorraine Winstanley and Rob Cross and discussed their World Matchplay campaigns. "Adie (Lewis) played really well at the Matchplay, I think he showed where he's come back from. To run Van Gerwen like he did, I really thought he was going to take him. He played some excellent darts," said Plummer to Online Darts.
Also having Phil Taylor in his stable. "He's not far away, he wants to win one and that's where he's at. I think the next one he wins it as he's got that little bit of hunger where he's practicing a bit more, playing a little bit more. He enjoyed the last one, you could see that in him."
"Hates losing, detests losing. That's the winner he is, that's why. I think the first one was a bit of a wake-up."
With the Target launch also on the horizon, he teased a new signing. "We've got a new signing coming up in September. I'm really excited about this. He's a brilliant player and we can't wait to have him in our team."
