These are the best averages ever at German Darts Championship: including the two highest ever on European Tour

From Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1, the German Darts Championship will be played in Hildesheim. At this Euro Tour tournament, the highest averages in Euro Tour history have been thrown in the past.
The two highest averages ever on the Euro Tour were thrown at the German Darts Championship. Dave Chisnall has held the record average since 2018. During the 2018 edition, 'Chizzy' recorded an average of 118.66 in his match against Mark Webster (6-0).
The old record was held by Michael van Gerwen. In one of the best Euro Tour finals ever, 'Mighty Mike' threw an average of 117.94 in his won final against Gary Anderson, who himself threw 103.78 average. Van Gerwen threw an average above 110 on a total of three occasions at the German Darts Championship. The Dutchman has further averages of 111.93 and 111.51 to his name. Peter Wright (113.77 in 2016) and Luke Humphries (111.33 in 2023) are the other players with 110-plus averages at the Euro Tour tournament in Hildesheim.
Van Gerwen also threw a 111.98 average twice at the German Darts Championship. Steve West also reached the same average during the 2016 edition. The players with top averages at the German Darts Championship are Adrian Lewis (109.97 and 108.35), Dave Chisnall (108.65), Gary Anderson (108.65), Damon Heta (108.82) and Michael Smith (108.38).
