Luke Littler needs to win two more matches to crown himself world champion, but at least 'The Nuke' is already well on his way to winning another trophy this PDC World Darts Championship.
As was the case last year, a trophy will also be awarded to the player who has thrown the most 180 scores at the World Darts Championship. This player will receive from tournament sponsor Paddy Power the Ballon d'Art, a nod to the Ballon d'Or awarded annually to the best football player of the year.
Littler currently holds a huge lead in the 180 standings. Prior to the semi-finals, Littler is already at 51 maximum scores. That means Littler has already single-handedly ensured that £51,000 will be transferred to charity, as the tournament sponsor will transfer £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every 180 score during the World Darts Championship.
Callan Rydz is currently second in the 180 standings with a total of 43 180s, but 'The Riot' has now been eliminated and so will not be able to add any more 180 scores to his total. Number three Chris Dobey (36) and number four Michael van Gerwen (35) are still in the tournament. The other semifinalist Stephen Bunting stands at just seventeen 180-scores.
Last year, Luke Humphries was the one who managed to win the Ballon d'Art in addition to the world title. 'Cool Hand Luke' then threw a total of 73 180-scores during the tournament, including 23 in his final against Littler.
