These are the top-10 highest averages ever in Premier League Darts (2005-2023)

Premier League Darts guarantees spectacle and high averages. In fact, the format of Premier League Darts lends itself perfectly to blistering performances. The list of highest averages is dominated by Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor.
In Premier League Darts today, the best darters in the world compete against each other in a best of 11 legs format. A few legs checked out in twelve darts or under and your average is soon well over a hundred.
The highest ever average in Premier League Darts is in the name of Michael van Gerwen. During the 2016 edition, Van Gerwen threw an average of 123.40 in his match against Michael Smith (7-1 win) thanks to two 10-darters, two 11-darters and two 12-darters. The aforementioned average is still the highest ever thrown average during a television tournament.
A year later, Peter Wright came close to breaking the magic 120 mark. In his match against Adrian Lewis, the Scottish darter threw an average of 119.50, a duel that Snakebite won 7-2, by the way.
Michael van Gerwen managed to throw an average above 115 three more times in Premier League Darts. As a result, the former world number one is listed in the top-10 three more times with averages of 117.95, 116.90 and 116.67.
No darting list is complete without the legendary Phil Taylor. 'The Power' can be found in the top-10 four times. His best match in the format dates back to 2012, when he posted an average of 117.35 against Simon Whitlock.
Incidentally, the 16-time world champion also has the highest losing average ever to his name During the 2015 Premier League, he lost 7-4 to Raymond van Barneveld despite a average of 115.80 points.
Furthermore, Taylor has averages of 116.10 and 116.01 to his name in Premier League Darts. Gerwyn Price earned a spot in the top-10 during the 2023 edition. His average of 115.97 was the ninth highest average ever in this league.

- What a undignified way to bow out of the darts for the greatest darts player ever, absolutely the best. Nobody was as dedicated or committed or even half as good as Phil. He completely dominated darts, not only the greatest darts player ever but also one of the greatest sportsman ever. Ayrton Senna is my ultimate hero but Phil won 16 World Championships, Eric only won 5 and that won't be surpassed. Thank you Phil, not my most favourite player but certainly the greatest and loved watching you completely destroy every opponent, almost never missed a treble or any check out. - I don't have a problem with someone being whoever they want to be, but ultimately there is a Ladies and Mens format for a reason. What is going to stop substandard men claiming that they are transgender and entering the ladies format for an opportunity to increase their profile, prize money, ranking etc etc. We know that the current crop of PDC players will suck up to van Leuven and will not speak out.richieburnettrocks23-10-2024
- The bottom line is Beau will be a triple World Champion soon. She is so many levels better than the rest of the ladies. Lorraine and Aileen have never really raised their game, I really expected the quality of the ladies game to have improved but excluding Beau, it seems to have detiorated.
