Phil Taylor accounts for no less than seven of the 10 highest averages, including an average that was a world record for a long time.
The 16-time world champion won at the 2010 edition with 118.66 average over Kevin Painter (9-0). This stood as the world record average during a televised tournament from June 5, 2010 to February 25, 2016. That record was then broken by Van Gerwen, who recorded an average of 123.40 during the 2016 Premier League Darts.
With further averages of 115.62, 115.51, 114.54, 113.05, 111.67 and 110.72, Taylor also managed to excel often at the FA Cup of Darts. In addition,
