Stephen Bunting dumped out American ace, Stowe Buntz to continue his remarkable end to the year so far, with 'The Bullet' reaching the
Grand Slam of Darts semi-finals with a big Sunday ahead.
Bunting spoke afterwards and was quizzed about potentially opening doors with this run at the Grand Slam of Darts and he wants to force himself into the reckoning for a Premier League return and World Series spots.
Winning the title would likely head towards giving the selectors no choice and he wants to continue putting himself in the 'shop window'.
"I always try and put myself in the shop window. I love playing darts and I'd love to play on the biggest stages. But I've got to perform to my best. I know you're talking about Premier League and World Series," said Bunting post match.
"I know there's a lot of work to do and I'm prepared to do it and try my best to put my foot in the door.
He also lauded his finishing against Stowe Buntz which stood at a shade over 60% so ultra impressive from the St Helens ace.
"I sort of kept my foot on his head trying to keep him under water and just try and be as good as I could be and my finishing was really good tonight. Not sure what the percentage was, but it felt like everything I was hitting was going in three darts.
