Gerwyn Price as well as reaching the final of the World Matchplay became the first player in history to hit four nine-dart finishes in one calendar year.
The first TV nine-dart finish of the year came on 1 January. 'The Iceman' hit it at the World Darts Championship in his quarter-final against Michael Smith, a match Price lost.
Price then threw two nine-dart finishes during the Premier League night in Belfast on 17 February. Both Michael van Gerwen (in the semi final) and James Wade (final) were on the receiving end.
The fourth nine-darter followed last Saturday against Noppert. With still many months, and especially television tournaments, ahead of him, the former world champion will have plenty of opportunities to improve his extraordinary record even further.
