On Saturday, the eight remaining players at the
New Zealand Darts Masters competed for the title at the
World Series of Darts event in Hamilton. In the end,
Rob Cross walked away with the overall victory.
Cross first escaped elimination against Jonny Tata (6-5) on Saturday, but then impressed against
Gerwyn Price (7-3) and
Nathan Aspinall (8-7) to crown himself the winner in New Zealand.
Aspinall scored a spectacular victory over
Michael Smith earlier in the semifinals by posting a 110.22 average against the world number one. Smith himself, by the way, had a very impressive average himself of 107.45 in that match.
