Vincent van der Voort is one of the Dutch competitors at the
German Darts Championship this weekend. In the podcast
Double Top he looked ahead to the event in Hildesheim.
''I get to compete again,'' Van der Voort said with some sense of self-mockery when asked about his participation in this weekend's
European Tour event.
It is known about Van der Voort that he has been struggling with motivation problems for some time, but that does not mean he has little desire to travel to Hildesheim. ''Of course I am looking forward to it. Playing tournaments is still a lot of fun. The world around it I'm not so enamored with.''
The 47-year-old dart player from Purmerend still has a small chance to qualify for the European Championship. Then he will have to win the German Darts Championship. ''We're not looking that far,'' Van der Voort said of this assignment. ''We will first try to win the first round (against Daryl Gurney, ed.).''
