Wales is the first semi-finalist at the World Cup of Darts. Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton were too good for Dennis Nilsson and Oskar Lukasiak, although the result was still close at 8-5.
The Swedes even took a 3-1 lead in the early stages, but after six legs, Wales hit back reaching 3-3 via double 10.
An 11-darter and an 80 finish took the two Welsh darters to a 5-3 lead, but Sweden did not give up yet and returned to 5-5. But a second gear proved too powerful for Nilsson and Lukasiak.
A 14-darter took the score to 6-5 before a 16-darter and another 14-darter secured victory for Price and Clayton. They will play Belgium (Dimitri van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts) or defending champion Australia (Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock) in the semi-final on Sunday evening.
