Wessel Nijman and Nathan Rafferty claim titles on PDC Development Tour

Wessel Nijman and Nathan Rafferty won a title on the PDC Development Tour on Saturday. For both men, it was their second title of the season on this circuit.
The thirteenth tournament of the Development Tour was won by Nijman. The Dutchman successively defeated Dominik Gruellich (4-0), David Schlichting (4-0), Moreno Blom (4-0), Jenson Walker (4-1), Felix Springer (4-0), Beau Greaves (5-0), Nathan Rafferty (5-4) and Niko Springer (5-2).
Rafferty took revenge on Nijman at the fourteenth tournament of the Development Tour by beating him 5-4 in the semi-finals. Before that, the Northern Irishman had already beaten James Buckby (4-1), Janek Hill (4-0), Justin van der Velden (4-1), Jon-Sebastian Wright (4-3), Jake Fewell (4-1) and Niko Springer (5-2). Rafferty finished the tournament in style with a 5-2 victory over Martin van Velzen in the final.
Against Van den Bergh, White, Mayes and Maiden, Greaves threw 100+ averages with 103.14, 100.99, 107.36 and 102.27, respectively. In the final, Greaves won 5-1 over Daniel Perry, giving Greaves the top prize of 2,500 pounds.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.
At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026. The ranking winner also gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
