"When I won the ProTours I wasn't even at my best": Multiple ranking winner Josh Payne 'ecstatic' after Q-School outright win

Josh Payne will return to the PDC ProTour in 2023-2024 after sealing his Tour Card outright at PDC UK Q-School defeating Chris Quantock in the final.

A two-time ranking winner in the past, Payne has dealt with tough times on and off the oche but the delight was there to see for 'The Maximum' who put a bad few days prior behind him to go all the way.

"I am over the moon. I am ecstatic, I've had a poor two days but I believed in myself and knew what I can do and just believed every game and I've done it," said Payne post match.

"I believe in myself, I have bad days so does everyone but its how you come back from them. Today I thought you know what knuckle down last two days and it happened today, I was probably hoping for tomorrow."

But what can be expected from Payne this time? He believes he is a better player than when he won two ProTours and hopes he can now kick on.

"I believe in myself more than I did on the last two years on tour. I know I can do better than what I done, when I won the ProTours I wasn't even at my best. I feel a lot better now so hopefully I can kick on."
