"When they come up against me, they always seem to play well" - Rise in renown brings challenges for Littler

For Luke Littler, 2023 is already a success. The barely 16-year-old Englishman managed to qualify for the PDC World Youth Championship final and also captured a Tour Card for the next two years.

Littler admits he's surprised himself. "I spoke to my manager Martin at the first Development Tour and he asked me; what do you want?" Littler told Tungsten Tales. "I said it'd be nice to win one. I won two, with two runner-ups and a quarterfinal which set me up and I've maintained it throughout the year."

This rise in renown has made things more difficult though, Littler believes. "When they come up against me, they always seem to play well. Like they have to play well and obviously then, I've got to be on my game all the time."

Littler will also make his first appearance at the PDC World Darts Championship later this year. "I actually can't quite believe that yet. That tournament has such a huge appeal and is followed on television by millions of people all over the world, amazing!"
