It just might be the first time we will see a player from the Bahamas at the World Darts Championship later this year. Indeed, a player from that country leads the Championship Darts Latin America and Caribbean Tour (CDLC Tour) rankings after the first tournament weekend.
The CDLC Tour consists of four tournaments spread over two weekends. The first tournament weekend took place in July, while the last two tournaments are played in early October. The circuit is open to players from players from Central and South America. The number one of the final rankings gets to compete in the World Darts Championship.
Leading the standings after the opening weekend is Rashad Sweeting of the Bahamas. Sweeting managed to win the first tournament of the season by defeating Guillermo Soto of Costa Rica 6-5 in the final. Sweeting recorded a tournament average of 74.87 over his six matches.
Norman Madhoo, winner of the 2023 CDLC ranking, managed to win the second event. He defeated Sweeting 6-3 in the semifinals before Madhoo won 6-5 over Sudesh Fitzgerald in an all-Gyanese final.
