Jim Williams will head into this year's
Q-School as one of the leading lights aiming to claim their Tour Card when Q-School begins tomorrow.
Williams spoke to Tungsten Tales ahead of his latest tilt at joining the PDC and revealed that he has not really been playing a lot since the Remote Darts League which he admits he didn't enjoy.
"Not a lot of darts for me at all really, just been working. I'd love to go out and play but it's just not on at the minute.
"I didn't enjoy it, it wasn't for me. I found it difficult like interest wise more than anything."
Lack of Lakeside
For Williams, he headed into Q-School last year off the back of losing in the BDO final but he discussed the lack of Lakeside this year.
"I definitely miss it. Through the social media, you get the memories come up and there are a lot of people sharing stuff about Lakeside, that's a big miss not just for me but for darts in general. The game really misses that place."
Less pressure
'The Quiff' also spoke about the pressure being off this year compared to last year when he went into Q-School off the back of the previous disappointment.
"I'm hoping it's going to be a lot easier this year with that side of it. The first year I went to see what it was like and have a go. The second year I think I put a lot of pressure on myself really because I wanted to move on. After the World final, you get so many people asking about it so it's difficult to shuttle that out of your head. Hopefully it should be a little bit easier."
But that he believes those who have just lost their Tour Cards and have been playing stand at an advantage.
"I've not played competitive darts at all really. Like you say barring the series and the Challenge Tour, I think the guys that are going to come through those first few days they've got a bit of an advantage. Also those boys that have just lost their Tour Cards, they've been playing so I think you're going to see a lot of them regain their cards this year."
