Jim Williams has played at Lakeside and the Indigo so is no stranger to playing on the big stage but made his debut at the PDC World Darts Championship on Saturday night seeing off Ted Evetts.
Williams spoke afterwards and admitted he had less nerves playing at Ally Pally as opposed to the Lakeside.
"Everything about it is great, I was a little bit disappointed by my performance there but I'd take that before I started to beat Ted Evetts in the first round. It was a funny game that, you know how good he is but it was difficult. My darts were sitting funny or they were falling out so your confidence in what you're throwing at is difficult," said Williams post match.
"I was least nervous here than I've ever been before. I've played Lakeside before but it's got it's own special buzz, this is just loud and it's great but I didn't find it as much pressure as Lakeside."
'The Quiff' also admitted that due to his personal life, he hasn't given enough attention to the tournament.
"I think I've approached it wrong, I've not put nowhere near as enough time in as I should have because I've got other things going on but I look at it now as a bonus."
