Wright knew he could have won £50,000 with second nine-dart finish: 'I wanted to try another way this time'

Peter Wright missed a dart at double 12 for a nine-darter in the Premier League Darts on Sunday evening something the World Champion managed to achieve the day before.

As a result of the miss, the Scot lost 50,000 pounds, a bonus paid out by betting office Unibet.

"I already heard Smith shout, miss it", Wright joked to RTL7Darts. Smith previously threw a 9-darter in the Premier League and saw some of the potential cash bonus pass him by.

He had already prepared himself for a possible 9-darter. "When I get the chance again, I'll do it a different way," Wright continued. That did not end well for Snakebite, who in the end missed double 12 once more.

Smith and Wright have four more night- and possibly the play-offs - to throw a second nine-darter and claim that bonus.
