Beau Greaves continues to prove exactly why she is considered such a heavy favourite for overall victory at the Women's World Championship.
Reaching the semi-finals with consummate ease, Greaves comfortably dispatched Paula Murphy in the last 8 by two sets to nil, winning every leg in the process. "Paula's a great player and obviously she didn't really settle on the stage, but I was just so straight and steady and that got me of the line," began Greaves in her post-match interview.
In her two matches so far at Lakeside this year, Greaves has dropped just a single leg. Averaging around 88 though, she still doesn't seem totally happy with her level. "I don't know what was happening but my hand was doing my head in. Like, I was stood there and it just wasn't feeling right and obviously if it doesn't feel right then they don't go right. I just played on and obviously got through it. I think, when I play tomorrow, I look forward to that and just feeling a bit more settled."
In her semi-final, Greaves faces Rhian O'Sullivan which be an altogether tougher test. The Welshwoman has also averaged over 80 in both games so far and has been a winner on the PDC Women's Series this year.
"Tomorrow I think it'll hit me, I've got to really step it up now and try and play a little bit better than that," Greaves preview the tie. "She's such a lovely lady. Such a down to earth girl and such an underrated player as well. It's going to be an absolutely brilliant game. She'll be gunning for me and I'll be gunning for her but it's one of them, we have a lot of respect for each other and you know I hope we both play our best darts."
