"I'm not letting a commentator beat me" - Jenkins bullish after victory over Mason

After emerging victorious from a five-set thriller with Chris Mason in the opening match of the 2023 World Seniors Darts Championship, Terry Jenkins sent out a warning to the rest of the field.

"That was a relief, I knew Chris had been playing well," Jenkins a semi-finalist here last year told reporters following his win. "I like the longer formats. If I'm honest, when I came here I didn't know what the format was I thought it was best of nine legs." he admitted.

"I'm not letting a commentator beat me, they were my thoughts," he joked when asked what he had thought when he had first seen the draw. "My lad said to me, Chris is playing well so I knew I was up against it. I'm very confident with the way I'm playing though, I know I've been playing well and I've been whacking in the 180s!"
