Jenkins on 2018 retirement after reaching World Seniors semi-finals: "It got too much, it was too full on"

Terry Jenkins will play Martin Adams for a spot in the final at the World Seniors Darts Championship after playing two games in a day to see off Lisa Ashton and John Walton. He summed up the day's work.

"One good game and one where I scraped through. I think I was just a bit tired, my arm's a bit stiff and I was snatching them but so was John (Walton), it was nip and tuck all the way through."

There is no dreaming yet though of the title with Jenkins admitting he is just going to stick to the task at hand.

"I'm just going to carry on playing, I've got to play better than that. I am enjoying it but I don't know what was wrong with us both. We got up there and I got off to a good start and then John started playing the second set and we both struggled."

He also discussed his 2018 retirement and what led to him suddenly stepping away from the game.

"The game has been brilliant, it's been good to me and I loved every minute but in the end, it got too much. If it was like when I first started when there wasn't so many competitions, I could have coped with it but it was just too full on. It's for the younger players now."
