Rob Cross became a title winner again recently by winning a Players Championship to get his year back on track after not winning since his World Championship triumph. He has now set his sights on winning the World Matchplay, which starts this weekend in Blackpool.

Cross described playing at the World Matchplay previously as an amazing experience in an interview with the PDC this week and for him he wants to do everything he can to lift the trophy later this month. “Playing at the World Matchplay last year was an amazing experience,” said Cross. “When you walk out into the venue it feels like a special place, even when you’re not playing. “The crowd are brilliant and that is definitely a tournament I would love to win and will be doing everything I can to lift that trophy.”
