Humphries after winning Best Newcomer at PDC Awards: ‘This is a massive award and shows how far I’ve come’

Luke Humphries claimed the Best Newcomer award at the PDC Awards after a brilliant debut year on the full circuit.
Afterwards Humphries described it as massive and that he wants to now continue making a name for himself. "This is a massive award and shows how far I have come over the last year," said Humphries. "To beat the reigning World Champion at Alexandra Palace was unreal for me and now my goal is to carry on my development and continue to make a name for myself."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
