The prize fund for the Lakeside 2018 has been released. The Lakeside 2018 champion will receive a £100,000 cheque for the eighth straight year in the BDO marquee event.
Ted Hankey's 2009 win was the last time that the prize fund for the winner of the Lakeside was under £100k and since 2013, it has always been at the 300k mark barring 2016 when it was 317k for the full fund with it being £339,000 overall including women's and youth winners who claim a smaller fund.
Compared to £400k for the winner of the full tournament on the PDC side. Which if not improved on the BDO side could see even more players' switching over in the coming years.
