Results Players Championship 13, Last 16: Cross vs Clayton & Bunting vs Evans among quarter-finals

The quarter-finals of the thirteenth Players Championship event of the season have been confirmed including Rob Cross, Jonny Clayton and Ian White making up the line up.
Cross and Clayton will face off with Cross wanting to win his first title of the season & Clayton his second after his Austrian Darts Open triumph. It should be a close game that goes a long way in deciding the winner of today’s Players Championship title. White will face Dirk van Duijvenbode who has been the surprise package of today. He has gone from not winning a game in some time to winning multiple games to make a brilliant run for the Dutchman. Bunting will face one of his best friends in Ricky Evans with both players in seriously good form. Also Jermaine Wattimena will face Peter Jacques with Machine Gun in great form, he hit a 132 checkout to beat Joe Cullen 6-1 with Cullen averaging over 100 to no avail. for more information on the Pro Tour circuit. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
