Rob Cross one of the favourites for the tournament just squeezed over the line against
Michael Smith in one of the games of the tournament so far at the Alexandra Palace.
Cross ended up winning 4-2 with an astonishing 16 180's to Smith's 13 and put in an average of 103 which was similar for his opponent. Also he had the highest checkout of the match with a blockbuster 164.
The game was that close that Cross had to survive two match darts before getting over the winning line dominating the following set to get into the last 16 where he will play either Daryl Gurney or John Henderson who play in tonight's evening session.
