Steve Beaton first man through in World Championship win against William O'Connor

Steve Beaton is the first man through in the World Championship as he saw off the debutant William O'Connor. 'The Bronzed Adonis' won 3-1 with the story of the match being O'Connor missing lots of doubles and getting frustrated as a result and a fluctuation between the pair of scoring with the last set in particular being an exciting affair.
O'Connor showed the double trouble by hitting only 22% of them and Beaton drew on his vast experience and will play either Vincent van der Voort or the number 8 seed Dave Chisnall in round 2 . In terms of averages, Beaton averaged 93 to O'Connor's 91.
