The now two-time world champion defended his 2017 crown with a
scintillating 7-6 win over
Mark McGeeney. Durrant survived two match darts before sinking a 149 checkout to break throw and sealing the match himself.
Feeling "hot and bothered" after the marathon match, Durrant offered his sympathies to McGeeney. "I didn't fall to the ground because I didn't want to disrespect him", the Middlesbrough ace said.
"I think darts was the winner there," claimed Duzza. "If people didn't enjoy that, then we might as well pack up right now."
Durrant also had some stern words reserved for Scott Waites, who he defeated in the semi-finals. Durrant took offence to the comments the fellow two-time world champion made after the game.
