The Nordic and Baltic qualifier Daniel Larsson started off the evening session with a solid 6-1 victory over the host nation qualifier Michael Hurtz who was making his first appearance on the Euro Tour for some time, the Swede averaged 87.3 and will face 'The Wizard' Simon Whitlock in what Paul Nicholson coined the Battle of the Beards.
Jamie Lewis held his nerve in a deciding leg following this after a late rally from his opponent Andy Boulton, the Welshman hit four 180's and averaged 94.8 and will face Michael Smith tomorrow.
Former World Youth Champion Keegan Brown made it through to round 2 defeating 'Ruthless' James Richardson 6-2. The Isle of Wight thrower averaged just short of 90 at 88 and will face Daryl Gurney tomorrow when the seeded players come into the fray.
'The Polish Eagle' Krzysztof Ratajski defeated one of the stars of last weekend and recent Dartsnews interviewee Robert Owen 6-4. Despite an average of 95 from the Polish Champion to Owen's 103, he got through and will face Gerwyn Price in Round 2.
