Phil Taylor may not join the World Grand Prix next month. A journalist from Live-Darts.com reports that the double-in, double out tournament in Dublin is not in its program.
The 16-time world champion will finish his PDC schedule this year, so the World Grand Prix is missing. In that case, Taylor would only take action on the Champions League of Darts, World Series of Darts Finals and Grand Slam of Darts before the World Championship
A possible waiver of Taylor is good news for Ronny Huybrechts. As all the players placed a spot, the Belgian would be on the sixteenth place in the Pro Tour ranking. With yet another tournament that counts for the World Grand Prix ranking, the odds for Huybrechts on a debut in Dublin seem to be expanded.
In 2013, 'The Power' managed to win the tournament in the Irish capital. During the past two editions, Taylor lost in the first round. By 2015, Vincent van der Voort was surprisingly too strong for the Englishman, last year Steve West repeated this feat.
