Snakebite's dream of retaining the
UK Open title could be aided by better sleeping arrangements. The Mendham ace has brought a new mattress and pillows into his setup as he looks to gain an advantage over competitors. Wright believes that it could make all the difference in Minehead.
"It sounds daft, but it's important for a darts player to sleep comfortably," Wright said.
"Any slight twinge or ache to the back, neck or arm can affect the way you play. The standard of hotel beds is terrible, but a firm called Rem-Fit gave me a special orthopaedic mattress.
"I'm even being given hi-tech new pillows that vibrate when you start to snore, and makes your head move so you don't make a noise."
The world number two beat Gerwyn Price 11-6 to win the
UK Open in 2017. It was his first, and so far only, major title victory.
