Titles for Van Peer, Rietbergen, Van Bijnen and De Jong at first edition of NDB Masters

Berry van Peer, Lerena Rietbergen, Pim van Bijnen and Fardau de Jong crowned themselves champions during the first edition of the NDB Masters in De Bilt on Wednesday.

During this tournament, last season's champions competed against each other to determine who was the greatest champion. Two starting spots for the MODUS Super Series were also up for grabs, but that division got a special tailspin.

Van Peer won the men's tournament by defeating Wessel Nijman (6-4) in the final. Normally, 'Bionic' and Nijman would then have received invitations to the MODUS Super Series, but Van Peer already has an invitation in his pocket, while Nijman is unable to participate. As a result, these prizes went to losing semifinalists Jarno Bottenberg and Stefan Schröder.

Among the ladies, Lerena Rietbergen proved the strongest. She defeated Desiree Geel (5-3) in the final. Pim van Bijnen was victorious with the boys. He won 5-2 against Kendji Steinbach. The girls tournament was won by Fardau de Jong after a 3-0 victory over Vanity van Zuidam.
