Absence of Wayne Mardle from Premier League Darts coverage in recent weeks explained

One notable absentee from the Sky Sports Darts coverage in recent weeks has been a certain Wayne Mardle on commentary and punditry duty with Dublin and Exeter being without 'Hawaii 501'.

But he took to Twitter to answer the questions and alleviate concern saying that he has had a small operation but will be back in the coming weeks.

"To all those asking, I’ll be back in a few weeks. Just recovering from an operation. Nothing to worry about thank god," he said.

While Mardle has been missing, Michael van Gerwen has taken a big lead in the Premier League Darts table with back-to-back night wins.
