Gary Anderson is through to the semi-finals of the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off Luke Humphries and now has Peter Wright on his agenda next.

Anderson admits it could have been an easier win but when it counted, it went in for him.

"Could have been better if my doubles went in, could have been so much easier. That was the way I felt, miles off some of them but the ones that mattered kind of went in," said Anderson post match.

He has spoken about his form not being up to par and it being 'rotten' which still hasn't changed but he admits he still has the hunger.

"And I'm still rotten. I've not changed, I think the other players have got worse. I've said I don't care and I really do mean it but when my foot goes on that top step and I'm on that stage, I still want to play darts and I still want to win."

A theme of this year's tournament has been a hostile crowd especially towards non-English players and for Anderson, he hit back and said it fires him up.

"I've got the skin of the rhino. The more they chant and sing against me, the more I'm going to enjoy it. It gets the blood pumping."

Anderson and Price are quite right about the crowd, who are berating players on stage and putting them off, due to their nationality. It is one thing for them to boo in unison while a players is throwing at a double but quite another for one or two idiots in the crowd to shout out obscenities or whistle when a player is about to throw at a double, this is cheating. If these darts players were Black footballers this would already have been dealt with and the idiots in the crowd banned for life and ejected. Abuse is abuse even if it is aimed at a White male and the non English players are being victimised and discriminated against. The lowest common denominator in the crowd that is doing these kind of things will only get worse if unpunished and the darts will not be worth watching. I feel the PDC have allowed it to happen as usually the idiots get behind Sherrock or Ashston and put the male player off on his doubles and they think that this is good to get cheap publicity for the sport. Could you imagine the press and the pundits and the PDCs reaction if the shoe were on the other foot and the female player was the one being abused on stage? Get it sorted.
