Gary Anderson is the second winner of this year's Premier League after defeating Daryl Gurney in a 7-5 win in front of his home crowd in Aberdeen.
Anderson claimed three straight legs in only 37 darts to complete a late surge against Gurney who was with him throughout and he concluded it with a brilliant 104 checkout.
Anderson started off by taking the opening leg with double 10 to the joy of the home crowd. Neither player though settled in the opening stages with it locked in at 2-2 all on throw so far.
Gurney missed the second dart in the treble 20 for a 148 and Anderson made it 3-2 to continue the spell on throw.
Anderson left himself on 40 but Gurney stood up to the boos by smashing in 80 to make it 3-3. Anderson missed three darts at double 10 and Gurney claimed the breakthrough hitting 72 to lead 4-3.
Gurney missed three darts at double three though but Anderson could not clean up making it a very scrappy leg. He cleaned up last dart in hand on double one though to restore it to parity.
He was well off the bull for a 121 but after Anderson strayed into the one on a 100 checkout, Gurney broke back again to go one away from a point.
Gurney missed double 20 for a shanghai 120 checkout and Anderson pinned double eight to once again continue the scrap.
A brilliant 66 checkout saw Anderson claim at least a point. He kicked off 180 and this rattled Gurney who was back on 331 on his throw and he ended it with a brilliant 104 checkout.
