Nathan Aspinall had a close to perfect debut on the World Series easing through to the second round at the US Darts Masters after defeating Shawn Brenneman 6-2.

Aspinall spoke afterwards and admitted he felt at home on stage. In terms of his performance, he described it as being steady and that it is a dream come true to grace the Mandalay Bay stage.

"I'm a happy man," said Aspinall. "I loved it - I had a few nerves beforehand but once I got on stage I felt at home and it was a steady performance.

"I didn't know how Shawn would play but I played a solid game and came through. I'm loving being here and it's a dream come true - and I don't want it to end."
