Dave Chisnall edged out Gerwyn Price to reach the second round at the World Grand Prix in Dublin. Chizzy claimed the win after a leg-decider in the last set.

The Danish Darts Open champion averaged 103 in the first set, but Price took a 1-0 lead as he landed a 128 finish and a 16-darter to grab the lead. Chisnall won the second set (3-0) and forced a decider. After five consecutive breaks in the last set Chisnall claimed the win with a 99 finish.

Danny Noppert caused an upset as he sent 2017 champion Daryl Gurney homewards. Noppie nicked the first set after Superchin missed five darts for the set. The Dutchman broke Gurney's throw in the second leg of the second set after the Northern Irishman missed another double. Noppert then took the second set with 3-0 to advance into the last 16.
