Clarys makes remarkable statement about Cullen: 'If he had won the Premier League, he wouldn't have been invited either'

Joe Cullen was a millimetre away from final victory in the Premier League Darts in 2022. In the final against Michael van Gerwen, 'The Rockstar' missed one matchdart on double 16 for the title, as Van Gerwen claimed the victory in the next turn.
This year, Cullen is missing from the Premier League Darts line-up. According to former darts player Erik Clarys, currently working as a commentator for the Belgian channel VTM, Cullen was not invited to the current edition even when hitting his matchdart.
''I don't think that one Premier League title entitles you to participate in the Premier League,'' Clarys said. ''There are also other players who have won something and they (the PDC) have also not invited them. So why would they give a place to someone who has won the Premier League?'', Clarys added.
