Jonny Clayton was eased past in the final on the opening week of
Premier League Darts action by Peter Wright who averaged 113.
But despite defeat, the sense of pride of doing it in front of a home crowd was all to see.
"Crowd were absolutely fantastic, proud to be Welsh and that's why. Fair play to Peter, I'm sure he was throwing hedgehogs," said Clayton to Online Darts.
"It's nice to get to the final, it's a good change and change is good. I just wanted to do well in front of my Welsh crowd, that's the only pressure."
But will he still go to the ProTour after that run? It was a resounding yes from 'The Ferret'.
"I love the ProTours and Barnsley," he said with a smile.
