Rob Cross is through to the Quarter-Finals of the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts after surging past Ryan Joyce in a 10-4 victory for 'Voltage'.
Cross has been full of confidence during his return to form and that was self evident again after seeing off the North East ace.
"I feel fantastic. I know the game is sort of there now and I sort of feel back, I suppose tonight was weird, first five legs different contrast. I was edgy, I was nervous, I blame the group stages. Then all of a sudden, I come out I find my feet I hit the 121 and then spread my wings a bit and that's what it's all about," said Cross post match.
But does he feel he is back to his best and can win the Grand Slam? For Cross, there are a couple of gears left but by his own admission he has always been a patchy player.
"I feel able again I would say that, I wouldn't say I was my brilliant best and I don't think my best is coming out. Maybe there's patches but at the same time, I've always been a patchy player."
"I still think I've got a couple of gears to go really but as long as I keep doing what I'm doing and keep my feet on the ground. When I get up there, it's all about the performance and winning and as long as that's there, I'm happy."
