Cross enters top four on Euro Tour Order of Merit after final win; big jump Van Veen after quarter-final run

Rob Cross has made a big jump on the PDC European Tour Order of Merit after 'Voltage' proved the strongest at the European Darts Grand Prix last weekend.
The former world champion started the Euro Tour tournament in Sindelfingen as number thirteen on the list. With his title, Cross earned ÂŁ30,000, moving him up to fourth place. Among others, the Englishman passed Luke Humphries (now fifth), whom he overcame 8-6 in the final of the European Darts Grand Prix.
Michael van Gerwen had to cede his second place to Gerwyn Price due to absence in Sindelfingen. Dirk van Duijvenbode is the second Dutchman in ninth place, while Danny Noppert dropped slightly and is now in 13th position.
There is a good chance we will see at least four Dutchmen at the European Darts Championship later this year, as Raymond van Barneveld is also in a good position with a 20th place. The Dutchman made it to the final day in Sindelfingen, moving up four places. However, the biggest jump was made by his younger compatriot Gian van Veen.
The dart player from Poederoijen had a sensational tournament with victories over Jermaine Wattimena, Danny Noppert and Josh Rock. In the quarter-finals, he lost 6-4 to Luke Humphries despite an average of 106. Van Veen climbed from 97th place to 48th. Dimitri van den Bergh is the only Belgian in the top-32 of the rankings. 'The Dreammaker' is in 21st position.
At the end of the season, the 32 best players of the final ranking will compete in the European Championship in Dortmund. This tournament is scheduled from 26 to 29 October.

- Absolutely disgraceful, really I've said many times that ITV coverage is superior to SKY and SKY know that. Jacqui was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Emma from SKY is more interested in what to wear than learning about darts. Chris Mason is absolutely the best and greatest commentator on TV, even better than Alex Jacques on F1 and Alex is absolutely brilliant. It is criminal that Chris and Alan will probably never be on TV again, what an amazing waste of talent. Poor Ned, who is just as excellent and knowledgeable on darts as the Tour de France has lost both gigs this year. The whole ITV team from presentation, commentary, production the whole team will definitely be missed and I have enjoyed every minute of their coverage. Thank you so much. John Part is the ONLY decent and knowledgeable person on SKY.
