A determined
Dave Chisnall vows he will not quit until he finally wins that coveted major title. 'Chizzy' played six major finals at the PDC, but lost them all.
On the Euro Tour, it's a different story. There, the Englishman already took his eighth title last weekend by winning the
Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp. In the final he was 8-6 too strong for the surprising finalist Ricardo Pietreczko.
Chisnall is now one of only four players to have won at least eight titles on the European Tour. Six of those were won in the past two years. It earned him another check for 30,000 pounds, which also moved him up to sixth in the world rankings.
“It’s been amazing," Chisnall said of booking a tournament victory on his 100th Euro Tour entry.
“I’ve had a great tournament this week, I feel like I got lucky against Peter [Wright], but after that I thought I deserved to win this tournament.
“When I got backstage, my manager said it was my 100th European Tour, and to go and win it. I said I would try, and I did!“I’ve had some tough games this weekend, and I’m just happy I got over the line in that final.”
A number of televised tournaments are scheduled in the coming months, including the World Grand Prix, European Championship, Grand Slam of Darts and the Darts World Cup.
Chisnall is determined to finally add a major title to his record. “I will win one of them. I’m not going to stop until I win one, every day is different. I’m going for that first major, and it’s definitely going to come.”
