Glen Durrant sat down with Dan Dawson for a piece with the Premier League debutants, Jose de Sousa, Dimitri van den Bergh and Jonny Clayton aptly named Duzza and the Debutants.
Durrant has a connection to each player making their debut with most being part of the Sportsman Management Company stable with Mac Elkin and he discussed going from the joy to despair of winning the title compared to bowing out this year with zero points.
"I've had the luxury of playing in front of unbelievable crowds at Aberdeen, Liverpool etc. These guys are doing it in the block bookings at Milton Keynes so it's what we play for. The Premier League is a huge bonus and even when the chips are down, you've got to remember it's a fantastic opportunity and what a job these guys have done," said Durrant.
"He's been practicing with Damon Heta, he is the Special One. In practice, he is the best player I've ever witnessed. I think the day he puts his practice darts, you will see 120+ averages."
They went around the table from there discussing Durrant and their view on him and his current plight.
"To be fair to Glen, we know Glen Durrant. He's just having a bad time, that's gonna disappear and he's going to come back the exact same player that won it last year. When you're winning, you're happy and confident. But when you're losing, it's lonely when everything is not going your way," said Clayton.
"I've been following this man from when he was winning the BDO World titles. He's also stayed humble, he'll never change and he's one of the funniest. When he has the time for you, he straight away gives you advice and helps you through your difficult moments," said Van den Bergh.
"Right now you don't have to show nothing to nobody," said De Sousa.
