Ricky Evans first captured his PDC Tour Card back in 2013 and has been a familiar face on the darting circuit ever since. The 34-year-old Englishman has therefore gained the necessary experience over the years and is currently 42nd in the PDC Order of Merit.
In a video from his sponsor MDA Darts, he was asked who his five best friends are on the Pro Tour. "That's a tough choice," Evans opens. "Actually, David Pallett should always be there, but he doesn't have a Tour Card at the moment. But, Jamie Hughes has got to be up there. He's my kind of humour, very miserable. But no, he's cheered me up when I've been down and I'd like to think I've done the same for him."
In second place, Evans chooses Stephen Bunting. "We used to share a room and we used to have a proper giggle bless him," Evans explains. "Everyone in darts loves Stephen to be fair, he's just a humble, lovely guy. I think the football rivalry as well, he's Liverpool, I'm Man Utd."
The third name may be a somewhat surprising one. "Karel Sedlacek. He's just the nicest man on Tour,'' says Evans. "Everyday is positivity. He could lose first round and he'd still come over to me and give me a cuddle. He's just a lovely man."
Fourth, Evans chooses a compatriot. "Hard to say he's a best friend but he's someone I look up to. Chizzy, Dave Chisnall," selects Evans. "Everyone loves a bit of Chizzy. He just makes you smile, he's a nice guy and what a player. He just doesn't win enough. Maybe one day he will."
To close, Evans opts for young force in the person of Nathan Rafferty. "I'll go 'Raff' over Willie Borland," concludes Evans. "I hope they don't see this!"
