Natalie Gilbert has emerged the winner of the final tournament at the PDC Women's Series 2023. The 40-year-old was too strong for Lorraine Winstanley in the final after a day full of surprises.
The first favorite was eliminated in the first round. Mikuru Suzuki did not make it against Priscilla Steenbergen and lost 4-2 to the Dutchwoman. In the last 32, Trina Gulliver, Anastasia Dobromyslova, Fallon Sherrock and Rhian O'Sullivan were eliminated. Gilbert and Winstanley themselves were responsible for the defeats of Dobromyslova and O'Sullivan, respectively.

Gilbert then managed to qualify for the final with wins over Eleanor Cairns (4-0), Noa-Lynn van Leuven (5-3) and Kirsty Hutchinson (5-4). Winstanley provided a surprise win over Beau Greaves (5-2) in the semifinals. In the final, the win giong 5-3 to Gilbert, who thus captured her first Women's Series title.
Beau Greaves finished in first place on the Women's Series Order of Merit with 29,400 pounds. Her win at the Women's World Matchplay already allowed her to compete at the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship.
However, Greaves recently announced she would not play at Alexandra Palace in order to compete at Lakeside. As a result, Fallon Sherrock and Mikuru Suzuki are the only two ladies at the PDC's World Darts Championship. Sherrock, as number two on the Women's Series Order of Merit, may also compete at the Grand Slam of Darts.
