Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé were leading figures in the Dutch darts world for many years. In conversation with Viaplay, the pair reminisced about the good old days.

Van Barneveld has seen a lot of evolution. "We used to not even have our own hotel room. Now yeah, actually that wasn't so bad, we had a great time," the five-time World Champion laughs. "I remember regularly sharing a hotel room with Raymond," says Stompé. "But then it was the case that he took three-quarters of the room and the other part was for me."
Van Barneveld even once brought a microwave to the BDO World Championship. "Everyone declared me crazy," he says. "But the year after, almost everyone brought one."
"That's how it was with Raymond," Stompé jumps in. "He was the first with everything. I was visiting him once and then there were three phones on the table. I asked what he was doing with them. 'Nothing, but I have them,' he replied. Furthermore, Raymond always had a lot of equipment with him; the room was so completely stuffed with all kinds of gadgets."
