Highest average for Anton Ostlund on first day of European Q-School

The first day of the first phase of the European Q-School was completed Monday in Kalkar, Germany.

The highest average of the day came in the name of Anton Ostlund. The Swede defeated Xanti Van den Bergh 5-1 in the first round with an average of 102.87. Ostlund reached the last eight and is thus qualified for the final phase of Q-School.

The second highest average was for German Matthias Ehlers, who was too strong for Ricky de Vos at the last 64, averaging 101.55. Ehlers also managed to qualify for the final stage of Q-School later in the day.

Completing the top three on Monday was John Michael. The Greek former Tour Card holder averaged 100.23 during his 5-4 win at the last 64 against Lukas Wenig. Michael eventually lost at the last sixteen, but is virtually assured of qualifying for the final stage.
