Huybrechts not pleased with Price's behaviour: "I understand why the crowd doesn’t like him"

Kim Huybrechts lost out on Monday evening with a spot in the Last 16 on the line against Gerwyn Price as he went down in a real thriller 4-3.
But part of the match courted criticism with Kirk Bevins, the referee having to step in after complaints from Huybrechts which he explained loosely translated from RTL7 post match.
"He’s just a bugger on the stage. He was constantly shouting. He also stepped on my foot at one point. Even if he is behind me, he keeps on screaming. I regularly co-commentate on Belgian television and have always defended him there but it was mind games for sure.

“I should have won this game. The emotions took over. Price is not the best player in the world, otherwise he didn’t let this happen. I understand why the crowd doesn’t like him, I don’t like him on the stage either."
Unbelievable! You tried to play Gerwyn at his own game but failed. I take it you are happy with the obscene chanting that Gerwyn had to put up with.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
