Kim Huybrechts lost out on Monday evening with a spot in the Last 16 on the line against
Gerwyn Price as he went down in a real thriller 4-3.
But part of the match courted criticism with Kirk Bevins, the referee having to step in after complaints from Huybrechts which he explained loosely translated from RTL7 post match.
"He’s just a bugger on the stage. He was constantly shouting. He also stepped on my foot at one point. Even if he is behind me, he keeps on screaming. I regularly co-commentate on Belgian television and have always defended him there but it was mind games for sure.
Understands pantomime villain status
“I should have won this game. The emotions took over. Price is not the best player in the world, otherwise he didn’t let this happen. I understand why the crowd doesn’t like him, I don’t like him on the stage either."
