Damon Heta has reached the quarterfinals of the
Masters for the first time in his career. 'The Heat' defeated
Rob Cross 10-8 in the last sixteen.
"I've been losing to Rob too many times and tonight I just got the job done," reacted a relieved Heta in his post-match press conference, having only previously beaten Cross once. "The losing weighed on my mind. I've lost to him too many times I feel and these are the guys I need to beat, the Premier League players, those that are ranked in the single digits, so it's a massive boost to my confidence."
"I feel I've done everything right off the oche and in practice even, so you've just got to believe in what you've done and bring it to the main stage," continues the Australian number one. "Things are happening for me and don't be surprised if they keep happening for the rest of the year."
Heta is never someone who has been shy on confidence and clearly has a big self-belief in his own abilities. "I just got the win over a Premier League player," he repeats proudly. "This is a big thing for me and I'm really happy about it."
