Harald Leitinger is the first player to claim a Tour Card at 2020 PDC Q-School defeating Martijn Kleermaker in a tense final in Hildesheim.
Leitinger has previously only played in two PDC events before with a 2011 Players Championship in Austria; as well as a European Tour qualifier two years ago but has stormed to victory on the first day.
The former soft-tip player was an underdog heading into the final against the Dutchman who is known as one of the best players in the BDO especially in the floor tournaments but lead throughout.
Kleermaker sent it to a decider but missed match darts meaning that Leitinger had three at 56 and he pinned it last dart in hand to claim a coveted Tour Card.
The former is still in a good position though with him at seven points so in theory, a good run on Day Two can go a long way to securing his spot on the tour still.
