So sorry to my fans and sponsor @TargetDarts, well done to Danny, but for me it just didn't feel like the world championships, without the fans it just wasn't the worlds for me and I couldn't get the adrenaline going
Adrian Lewis was dumped out of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship at the hands of Danny Baggish in a 3-1 defeat in the second round.
Lewis took to Twitter afterwards to reflect on the defeat giving credit to his opponent but also admitting it didn't feel like the World Championship for him due to the lack of fans.
"So sorry to my fans and sponsor Target Darts, well done to Danny, but for me it just didn't feel like the World Championships, without the fans it just wasn't the Worlds for me and I couldn't get the adrenaline going," said Lewis.
This is a view that has been voiced by other players in recent days including Gerwyn Price who said it felt like he was playing in his kitchen.
